Leopard

The leopard guppy is a spotted pattern variety, usually showing dark spots or broken markings across the tail and sometimes the dorsal fin or body. The pattern can be bold and widely spaced or fine and dense, depending on the strain. Leopard markings may be combined with yellow, red, blue, or multicolor backgrounds, so the spotted effect is the identifying feature rather than one fixed palette.

Leopard guppies are appealing in groups because each male may carry a slightly different spot map, but breeders still need to select for consistency if selling or showing a line. Spots that merge into muddy patches can weaken the look. Practical care is the same as for other fancy guppies: clean, stable water, peaceful tankmates, and enough cover for fry. Large-tailed leopard lines should be protected from fin nippers.
