Neon Blue
The neon blue guppy is a bright blue fancy strain, usually selected for an intense electric sheen on the body, tail, or both. It may overlap with blue, Japan blue, metallic, or delta-tailed lines, but the name points to the vivid, luminous effect that stands out under aquarium lighting. The best examples show strong color without looking pale, gray, or patchy.
Neon blue guppies need clear water and low-stress conditions to show well, since washed-out color can signal either genetics or poor condition. Breeders select mature fish with consistent blue coverage and avoid pairings that dilute the line into ordinary blue or mixed multicolor offspring. In community tanks, these guppies should be kept away from fin nippers, and planted cover helps fry survive if breeding is allowed.
