Argente Brun (US)
Argente brun in the US is the United States registry expression of the brown silvered Argente rabbit. It is generally treated as a distinct show breed or variety within the American fancy, with emphasis on a rich brown undercolor, silvered guard hairs, and a commercial-type body. The coat can be misleading in very young rabbits because silvering develops as the animal grows.
US breeders commonly select for a smooth balance of body depth, usable flesh condition, dense rollback fur, and clean silvering that does not wash out the brown base. For buyers, the practical question is whether the rabbit comes from lines bred to the United States standard or from imported or mixed Argente stock. Routine care should protect coat quality without making the rabbit fragile: dry bedding, hay, measured pellets, and regular handling checks are enough for most well-bred animals.
