Argente Brun
Argente brun is a brown-based member of the Argente rabbit family, the group of silvered rabbits whose coats develop a bright overlay as the animal matures. The brun name points to the warm brown or chocolate ground color under the silvering, separating it from cream, noir, champagne, and other Argente variants. Young rabbits may look darker or plainer before the adult coat finishes, so the full effect is not always visible in a nest box.
Breeders manage Argente brun rabbits as medium-sized fancy and utility rabbits, with selection centered on body type, even silvering, clear undercolor, and healthy dense fur. Registry treatment differs by country, so show prospects should be judged against the local standard rather than a general Argente description. For owners, the practical needs are ordinary rabbit husbandry: dry housing, steady hay intake, nail and coat checks, and enough room to move without damaging the coat.
