Argente Noir
Argente noir is a black-based silvered rabbit within the Argente family. The noir name points to the dark undercolor beneath the silvering, separating it from brown, cream, and champagne forms that may look similar to a casual observer once the coat has matured. In practice, the breed or variety identity depends on the local standard and on whether the line is maintained as a recognized Argente color.
Good breeding stock should show sound body, dense coat, and silvering that enhances rather than erases the black foundation. Since silvering can intensify with age, keepers often compare littermates over several months instead of choosing only the flashiest young rabbit. For non-show homes, Argente noir rabbits need ordinary rabbit care, but a clean, dry floor is especially useful because dull or stained fur makes color assessment harder.
