Blanc de L'oural
Blanc de l'Oural, often rendered in English as White of the Ural, is an obscure white domestic rabbit label tied to Russian or Ural-region stock in French-language breed lists. It is best understood as a managed rabbit breed or strain of Oryctolagus cuniculus, not a wild hare or a colour that can be assigned to any white rabbit. Descriptions usually place it among albino, meat or fur-oriented whites, with a plain white coat and red or pinkish eyes. Because documentation is thin, names may overlap with local white giant or production lines depending on the source.
Practical stewardship starts with verification. A breeder, rescue, or small farm using the Blanc de l'Oural name should keep notes on source animals, adult size, body type, and whether an actual breed standard is being followed. Care does not differ from other medium or large domestic rabbits: secure dry housing, constant roughage, clean water, and shade in warm weather. For preservation work, avoid casual crossing with New Zealand White or other albino rabbits, since the outward colour alone will not preserve whatever regional genetics the line may carry.
