Chaudry
Chaudry is a little-documented name used for a domestic rabbit breed or regional strain rather than a widely standardized show rabbit. Reliable public descriptions are scarce, and the name is not commonly used in major North American or British rabbit registries. Animals offered as Chaudry rabbits should therefore be viewed as local stock unless the breeder can explain the origin of the line, its adult size, coat type, color range, and selection history. Like all domestic rabbits, they are Oryctolagus cuniculus, so basic behavior and health expectations are those of other breeds.
Practical evaluation matters more than the label. A buyer or rescue should look for sound teeth, clear eyes and nose, clean feet, good body condition, and a temperament that suits the intended home or breeding project. Ask how the rabbits are housed, what they are fed, and whether close relatives are being mated repeatedly in a small group. If the goal is conservation of a rare line, keeping simple pedigree notes and exchanging stock with unrelated keepers is more useful than relying on the name alone.
