Dwarf Rabbit
Dwarf rabbit is a broad label rather than a single tightly defined breed in every setting. It can refer to recognized dwarf breeds such as the Netherland Dwarf, to dwarf-influenced varieties within other breeds, or to small pet rabbits marketed by size. True dwarf genetics often produce a compact body, short ears, and a rounded head, but the label alone does not tell a buyer which standard, ancestry, or adult weight applies.
Practical decisions should start with the actual breed or line behind the rabbit. Very small rabbits still need secure housing, traction underfoot, measured feeding, and daily checks for teeth, appetite, and litter habits. Breeders should be plain about mature size and avoid selecting only for tiny bodies if vigor or jaw structure suffers. For families, a calm small rabbit from a responsible program is usually easier to manage than an under-socialized rabbit advertised simply as dwarf.
