Feh de Marbourg
The Feh de Marbourg, often known in German contexts as the Marburger Feh, is a continental European rabbit noted for its soft blue-gray, lilac, or pearl-like coat tone. The word Feh refers to a squirrel-gray fur color, which explains why color sits at the center of the breed's identity. It is usually treated as a moderate fancy breed rather than a dwarf, giant, or wool breed, with type expected to support the evenness and finish of the coat.
Feh de Marbourg breeding rewards patience because slight shifts in shade, ticking, and undercolor can change how correct the rabbit appears. Clean housing, shade from harsh sun, and careful molt management help keep the coat readable for show assessment. The breed does not need unusual daily grooming, but it does need breeders who understand its registry language and avoid mixing it casually with other dilute or silvered rabbits. When purchasing, ask which national standard is being followed, since translated names and similar Marburger labels can be recorded differently.
