Harlequin (ej)
Gene
Harlequin (ej), also called Japanese brindling, is an allele of the rabbit extension gene, MC1R. It gives a patchwork of dark and orange areas, the harlequin, and with English spotting the tricolor. It is recessive to normal extension (E) and dominant over non-extension (e), and rabbits with one ej and one e copy tend to be yellower.
