Miniature Lion Lop
The Miniature Lion Lop is a British-developed small lop that adds Lionhead-style mane wool to the Miniature Lop outline. It was developed as a breed type rather than a casual cross name: compact lop body, dropped ears, rounded head, and a mane or bib that frames the face. The saddle coat should remain shorter than the mane areas, keeping the rabbit from looking like a fully long-coated lop.
Breeding Miniature Lion Lops asks for restraint. Too little mane loses the lion character, while excessive skirt or cottony wool makes grooming harder and blurs the outline. Ear carriage, crown, body depth, and coat transition all need to be judged as the rabbit matures. Pet owners should expect more grooming than for a smooth Miniature Lop, especially behind the ears and under the chin, but less wool work than a Cashmere Lop or angora-type rabbit.
