Siamese Sable
Siamese sable is usually a shaded color description, and in some rabbit traditions it also appears as a breed or variety name. The typical look is a warm sepia body with darker shading on the muzzle, ears, feet, tail, and other points, giving a softer gradient than a sharply marked Himalayan pattern. It should be distinguished from sable marten, smoke pearl, seal, and ordinary chocolate or black self colors.
For breeders, Siamese sable can be genetically and visually subtle. Shade may change with age, molt, season, and coat condition, so judging a young rabbit too quickly can lead to mistakes. Matings need planning if the goal is consistent shaded color rather than surprise white, seal, or marten outcomes. Owners do not need special care for the color itself, but they should know the underlying breed, because a Siamese sable Netherland Dwarf, Satin, Rex, or mixed rabbit will have different management needs.
