Siberian
Siberian is a sparse historical rabbit label, usually best approached as an old fur-color or breed-list name rather than as a clearly standardized modern rabbit in most countries. The word has been associated with attempts to evoke northern gray or squirrel-like pelts, which places it near the same fur-breeding vocabulary that produced names such as Perlfee and Marburger Fee. It should not be confused with the Siberian cat or with wild hares of northern Asia.
When the label appears today, documentation matters more than confidence. A breeder or catalog should explain the country, standard, coat color, and whether the line is still maintained. Without that context, Siberian may simply be a descriptive or inherited name attached to a blue-gray rabbit. Practical stewardship would focus on preserving photographs, weights, family history, and any club references, while caring for the animal according to its actual coat type and body size.
