Tan Pattern (at)
Gene
Tan pattern (at) is the middle allele of the rabbit agouti gene, ASIP. The back is one solid color while the belly, eye rings, jowls and inner ears are light or tan with sharp edges, as in otters, martens and Tans. It is recessive to agouti (A) and dominant over self (a). A deletion in an ASIP promoter is the likely cause.
