British White
The British White is a white-feathered domestic turkey type associated with British table-bird production and farm flocks. The name may describe traditional white strains, exhibition stock, or commercial white meat lines depending on the source, so it should not automatically be treated as the same thing as the Broad Breasted White or the old White Holland. Typical birds have white plumage and pale pinfeathers, traits long favored where a clean-looking dressed carcass mattered.
Practical expectations depend heavily on the strain. A traditional British White may behave much like other heritage turkeys, with natural mating and a moderate growth rate, while a commercial white line may grow quickly and require artificial insemination in organized breeding programs. White feathers do not reduce the need for shade, ventilation, and shelter from rain. Keepers should ask about mature size, fertility, expected market age, and whether the flock has been selected for range use, barn production, or exhibition type before buying poults or hatching eggs.
