Cambridge Bronze
The Cambridge Bronze is a British bronze turkey type associated with traditional table-bird production, especially in England. It belongs to the domestic turkey, Meleagris gallopavo, and shows the dark bronze iridescence, barred wings, and full tail expected of bronze-colored turkeys. The name has been used for established British strains as well as, at times, for bronze commercial birds sold for seasonal markets, so it is worth treating it as a strain name unless a breeder can explain the flock's background.
True breeding or traditional Cambridge Bronze stock is generally managed more like a heritage turkey than a high-speed white commercial bird. Birds benefit from range or roomy yards, dry housing, strong fencing, and feed that supports steady growth without pushing excessive weight too early. Breeding flocks are selected for natural mating, leg soundness, breast shape, and consistent bronze color. For buyers, mature size and growth rate are more informative than the color name alone.
