Mustard Gas
Mustard gas betta is a domestic Betta splendens color label for a dark blue, steel, green, or sometimes blackish body paired with yellow to orange fins. The fins may carry darker edging or ray color, giving the fish a two-tone, banded look rather than a plain yellow fin. The name began as a line-breeding term in the betta hobby, but commercial use is now loose; many fish advertised this way are blue-and-yellow bicolors without documented connection to the original lines.
Care is no different from other fancy bettas, so the practical questions are health, fin condition, and whether the color is accurately represented. Strong aquarium lighting can shift a yellow fin toward gold or green in photos. Breeders selecting for mustard gas style usually work to keep the body color clean and the fin color rich, while reducing red wash or muddy transitions. Buyers who want show-type fish should ask for parent photos or breeding history rather than relying on the label alone.
