Nemo
Nemo betta is a trade name for a bright domestic Betta splendens pattern inspired by the orange, white, and black contrast of clownfish. Most fish sold as nemo show orange or red patches with white, cream, yellow, and sometimes black or blue marks, often on a plakat body. The pattern overlaps heavily with koi, candy, and marble-based lines, so it is not a strict show class or a separate breed. Young fish may add color or lose pale areas as they grow.
In pet homes, a nemo betta is chosen for personality and condition as much as pattern. It needs warm, clean water with little current. Surface access and secure housing away from rival bettas are also important. Because the colors can shift, a buyer should not expect a juvenile to stay exactly like its sales photo. Breeders pairing nemo-style fish select for bright orange coverage and contrast, but spawns can include plainer marbles, koi-patterned fish, and unexpected darker individuals.
