Solid
Solid betta fish are Betta splendens selected for a single, even body and fin color rather than a pattern such as butterfly, marble, Cambodian, or bicolor. The term describes coloration, not tail shape, so a solid fish may also be a plakat, veiltail, halfmoon, crowntail, or another fin form. Red, blue, black, white, yellow, orange, and metallic copper lines are common examples, although show-quality solids are judged more strictly for uniform pigment and minimal stray iridescence or pale edging.
Their care follows normal domestic betta needs: warm water, access to surface air, gentle filtration, and enough room to swim without heavy current. Buyers should look past color and check body condition, clean fin edges, clear eyes, and normal breathing. Breeding solid lines takes selection, because marble genes, pale bodies, metallic overlay, or patterned fin margins can appear even from attractive parents.
