Super Delta
Super delta betta fish are domestic Betta splendens with a broad caudal fin that opens wider than a standard delta but usually falls short of the full 180-degree spread expected of a halfmoon. The tail forms a large fan when the fish flares, with the best examples showing balanced edges, good ray support, and a smooth transition into the dorsal and anal fins. Super delta is a fin type rather than a color, so it may be found in solid, marble, butterfly, metallic, dragon scale, and many other betta patterns.
The wide, often long fins need a calm aquarium where the fish is not pushed around by filtration or snagged by sharp decor. Males are usually housed singly because Betta splendens remains territorial regardless of tail type. For breeders and buyers, the main considerations are tail spread, symmetry, fin strength, and health; young fish advertised as super delta may mature into delta, halfmoon, or uneven long-fin forms depending on genetics and conditioning.
